Can I get finance on my new windows?

We recognise that not everyone has the money to pay a lump sum of cash for their windows upfront. And it’s why we have introduced our own finance scheme for replacement windows. It is interest-free with no hidden charges. This means you can have your new windows straight away, making reduced monthly payments over a period of a year and even up to 10 years. A typical monthly payment for a £3000 window installation would cost £25 over 10 years, while you could pay £69.44 over 36 months for a window installation costing £2,500.

What is the difference between Fensa and Certass?

Both organisations are responsible for ensuring that their member companies – which are involved in the installation of windows and doors in the UK – comply with government Building Regulations. Both also assess members annually to ensure they are competent in their trade. Certass is the more recently-formed of the two and, as such, is a Green Deal Approved Certification body. It also has the industry’s TrustMark accreditation and a tailor-made dispute resolution service which both the member and their customer can access. Here at Sovereign Home Improvements we have opted to go with Certass due to its green credentials, which we find more customers are interested in these days.

What guarantees do I get?

We are a small family-run business with decades of industry experience within our team. We guarantee excellent work quality and service from start to finish. Neither will you ever find ‘hidden extras’ added to our bill. We are a Which Trusted Trader and industry reviewed by government accreditation and inspection body Certass. Take a look at our previous reviews and finished projects in our website Gallery. That way you can find out how previous customers found our service and standard of work. We are also happy to pass on contact details of previous clients who are happy to recommend our work based on their own experience.
In the unlikely event a customer isn’t satisfied with our work then we attempt to correct matters ASAP. We also have an approved complaints procedure and are happy to refer a customer grievance to the Dispute Resolution Ombudsman if necessary.
Meanwhile, our windows come with a 10-year warranty as standard.
We also offer a 10 year insurance backed guarantee with QANW

What colours can I have?

At Sovereign Home Improvements you really are pretty much spoiled for choice when it comes to colours. At the moment our biggest ‘shade’ seller is anthracite grey. For many homeowners this neutral shade is a welcome change from white and it certainly lends an aura of sophistication to the home. But if you don’t happen to be a fan of coloured window frames then you can also choose from a variety of wood offerings, from traditional Rosewood to various shades of light oak. These can be left with a matt look or varnished to provide an attractive gleam when reflecting light.
We also offer a spray service and can have your windows sprayed any colour your heart desires!

Do I need trickle vents in my windows?

Trickle vents are very small openings built into windows for ventilation purposes. They encourage air flow by allowing stale air to escape. In doing so they prevent condensation and mould – both of which can irritate health conditions such as asthma and allergies. Here at Sovereign Home Improvements our secure uPVC windows come already fitted with warm edge spacer technology.

On survey we can determine if you need trickle vents or not. Some houses will require them especially new builds as it is a building regulations requirement. Older properties do not require them usually.

What energy rating do you offer?

Our UPVC windows in Essex are all A rated, thanks to excellent draught-proofing. This is the highest rating possible and applies to all our windows – regardless of whether you happen to be looking for aluminium windows, bow bay or tilt and turn windows. The same applies to our double and triple glazed windows, as well as our casement windows. All are available in an extensive range of colours from anthracite grey to rosewood and light oak.
